Movie review

Straight Outta Compton (2015) is a film that talks about the musical expression of African-Americans at the time of the 80s-90s. This is located in the United States, specifically in Compton; an area where the main gangs of USA, Bloods and Crips reside, transforming it into a zone of fear.
Ice Cube, Eazy E, Dr. Dre, MC Ren and Dj Yella started a social revolution that Influenced an entire generation. Entertaining, interesting, powerful and emotional moments, it is definitely worth giving a Saturday night.
This film tells the true story of five men who in 1987 made the decision to do something to change their reality using honest rhymes, of how black people were abused. These ended up changing the story, opening a new musical path and transforming it completely. When performing these songs society began to become aware of how white people treated differently, badly and discriminating against people of color. The rap group never gave up before the racism that was presented at the time, since in the film the police mistreated this group, a great example is when they were outside their first musical studio, the police wanted to arrest this group of Hip Hop / Rap for the simple fact of being black in a white area. Thanks to these events the musicians had the idea of making a musical album, in which they had the opportunity to express their feelings about the racism lived by people of color at that time. Within this album, there is the song titled "Fuck tha Police", which talks about the experiences that the musicians have had with the police. This is not the only song which talks about one of the experiences lived by the group, each song is a different theme which will be expressed by the group without any limit.
This film, caused a great impact in the historical context in which it took place, since in the film it shows evidence of the racism that was lived in the time. The musical group made songs in order to show how their reality was and because they wanted to change it. Likewise, one of the contributions left by the group (NWA) was the beginning of a new stage of Hip Hop / Rap, since they were the first Hip Hop / Rap musical group, which expressed itself without limits (criticizing society and government, with vulgar language).
The NWA artistic group was criticized for several of their songs, especially "Fuck tha Police", that offended an entire white population especially, the US police. This was not the only song which It was criticized. By the climax of the film, we can see how the rapper Ice Cube decides to withdraw from the group and to go solo, this action has as a consequence that his former group have anger and create a musical theme criticizing Cube and calling him a hypocrite. Ice Cube clearly would not stay with his mouth closed, so then decides to answer this song, with another song entitled "No Vaseline". Thanks to this song the entire population (on both sides, white and colored people) decides to criticize Ice Cube and call him "anti-Semite" when in fact he is not, in an interview he explained that he was not hating on the Jews, but that he was hating on Jerry Heller
Also in the film, we can see all the problems that are caused by money and fame, including group members, record labels, and manager. On the other hand, these members grew up in a neighborhood where day after day they saw narcotics and violence in the streets. Therefore, we believe that these were affected in their adulthood by their childhood training. We believe that this film is impressive from the point of view of entertainment to the artistic and cultural on the growth of this genre to the discrimination suffered by African-Americans.
